Well
it's been a while since I rapped
at ya, in the words of my favorite
Onion contributor, Mr. Jim Anchower.
It's been a busy couple of months,
to say the least. Plenty of
projects, quality time with
the family, and time well spent
riding up at Mt. Bachelor. I'm
planning on a much needed revamp
of the site pretty soon, but
in the meantime here's some
highlights of the last few months
courtesy of my slick new Canon
Rebel Xti. It's a sweet little
SLR camera with a 10 megapixel
capability. I've missed shooting
with an SLR camera, so it's
been a lot of fun. Enjoy...
and Happy New Year!

A
little overdue on updates lately,
but certainly not because there
hasn't been much to report.
On the contrary, it's been a
whirlwind month. We finished
up all the house projects we
wanted to get done this summer,
including painting the exterior
of the house, stripping
and installing a new roof, plumbing
and installing irrigation, and
putting in some grass.
We're
real proud of Jen this month.
She caught her very first steelhead
out on the Deschutes, and ran
her first marathon last Sunday
in Portland. She ran a good
strong race, finished
with a time of 3:36, and qualified
for the Boston Marathon! Looks
like we might be headed out
to the east coast in April...
Next
on the agenda is a bit of illustration,
a dash of steelhead fishing,
and a little side trip next
week to Los Cabos.
One
last item of note:
I finally got a chance to put
together a slideshow of the
OKOK show. Check it out here,
and all the paintings are now
up in the painting section here.

It's
getting to be the end of the
summer already and I'm getting
a little behind on my updates.
First off, the show went really
well. OkOk
has put together a beautiful
gallery space, and it was a
real pleasure to fill it up
with the fruits of my labor
these last few months. The mural
came together nicely after a
long day of painting and okok
put together a neat little time
lapse video of the whole things.
Check it out
here.
I'll
be putting together a gallery
slideshow soon, so stay tuned
for some photos.
Thanks
again to Charlie, Amanda, Grant,
Joe, Nick and Sally, and all
the fine folks that helped out
and made it a memorable evening
for me.
It's
back to the day job now, and
I hope to be painting soon,
but it may be a month or so
before I have a chance to put
brush to canvas.
I
took a couple of fun trips this
summer, and I finally got around
to putting pages together for
them. Click on the photo to
see more.

It's
getting to be about that time,
show time that is. Been putting
in some long hours these last
few months, working out the
kinks with a good long run of
new paintings and drawings.
Click on the above image for
some basic info. More info and
directions to the gallery can
be found here.
Hope to see you there!

My
sister is celebrating her 26th
today in Iceland. This is an
old photo from a St. Helens
climb we did a few years ago,
before it started smoking again.
Happy birthday sis, we sure
do miss ya. |

The
Seagle is on the streets! Currently
touring the lower 48, with no
air conditioning and a very
large trailer.
The
good folks at Nemo
design have been art directing
me on the NKE
6.0 campaign for the past
nine months or so and this "car"
was one of the props we came
up with. I drew it into a few
ads, had some fun with the ridiculousness
of it and daydreamed a little
about how wild it would be to
see one of these in action.
A couple of months later Chris
over at Nemo gave a call to
let me know it was going to
be built, and 4 weeks later,
it was done. Amazing. Here's
some photos with similar drawings:

It
was built by Turtle
Transit, and more photos
of the buildup can be seen on
their website. Another writeup
about it here.

You should be able to find it
in select stores in the 22oz
bottle.

Happy
Birthday to Jenny! Shaping up
to be a good weekend. We've
got lots of friends coming out
to Bend for the 10 year Sisters
High School reunion, rumors
of a tubing extravaganza on
the Deschutes, and lots of sunshine.
Been cranking on the house,
so many projects, so much to
do. Got er just about painted,
built some flower beds, put
a new window in the office.
Working on some good stuff.
Just
posted some new work to the
site. Most of this is from last
year, some pretty recent. Some
in the Client
section, some in the Illustration
section.

Heading
out to Portland this weekend
for a little shindig at the
Hecklewood
headquarters. Check out the
flyer here.
Mr. Huff had some posters and
tees printed up, and promises
of PBR 40s should bring plenty
of sophisticated art types.
Poster artwork here
and a closeup here. |

I
snuck in a little three day
trip on the Deschutes last weekend
with BC and Eddie. Stoneflies
were out in force and good times
were had by all. Trout Creek
to Maupin. My maiden voyage
rowing this stretch. Here's

| The
adicolor
site is up and running with
product in stores and available.
I spent the better part of last
summer and fall working on many
of these apparel pieces.
On
the homefront, it was another
fine Memorial Day weekend packed
full of activity. We went to
see Beck and the Decemberists,
worked on lots of house projects,
saw some good friends, and tried
to climb the south sister. We
had some rather bad timing on
the last one. Pretty close to
a foot of fresh snow up at treeline,
and visibility was none too
good. We should have waited
a day as it dawned bluebird
and gorgeous Monday, but that's
the way it goes.
On
another note, my sister has
been sending me some fine shots
from her current remote location
in Iceland. She's working an
engineering job on the coast
somewhere, learning her trade
and putting that hard earned
civil engineering degree to
good use. I'm so damned proud
of her. There has been some
interest in her part on a return
trip, perhaps a 12 month stint,
and I may have to visit if that
happens. Here's a few photos
she's sent me:

I
went to the bookstore the other
day. Picked up a Vapors
and when I flipped it over,
I was surprised to see this.
It's the first NKE 6.0 ad I've
come across. Nemo gave me the
heads up about a few more, and
I'll post them as I find them.

Well,
I'm back. Sorry for the long
hiatus. It's been quite a month.
Pretty much chained to the desk
since I got back from Montana.
So many good projects. Two new
beer labels for Deschutes. Broken
Top Bock is in stores now
and The 18th Anniversary Pilsner
is up next. Round two of the
NKE 6.0 print, TV, and retail
campaign has been in full swing.
WIne labels, book illustrations,
adidas patterns and some hand
drawn maps were also finished
recently.
I've
got some pictures from the Montana
trip coming up, and I'll try
to be more on top of things
for a while.
Last
weekend was the annual TTS shredfest/camping
trip at HooDoo. We built some
big jumps, hit some little ones,
and had a fine night of camping
and hanging out at the gravel
pits. I didn't get much in the
way of photos, but here's a
couple:
