Another
fine day:
clear skies, calm winds, fresh
pow. And to top it off, a hot
tub at the end of it. 01

The

now has a page. Click on the

trip to the island of Kauai.
It's
snowing hard out here and it's
getting deep! I'm heading out
on Monday for a week in Montana
in search of steeps, good friends,
and hopefully some rocky mountain
cold smoke. Stay tuned for another
trip report soon.

So
I saw the world's longest snowboard
up at Bachelor the other day.
Yep.
In
other news, I just updated a
bunch of new stuff in the illustration
and client
work galleries. Mostly apparel
stuff I did for Jimmy'Z last
summer that is in stores now.
I haven't seen the finished
pieces yet, but I'll post some
pics when I do. The other piece
was from the last issue of TW
Snowboarding magazine. I've
got another spot illustration
in the next issue as well.
Been staying busy with tons
of projects as well: finishing
the new
front door , installing
and refabbing the
hot tub shell
we just aquired, and working
on some new paintings. Just
trying to get as much done as
possible before we head out
to Kaua'i at the end of the
month.

Had to share
this from the other day. Far
side of NW, hiked up a ways
and got some fresh pow. First
sun breaks I've seen in a month.
If you've checked out the NKE
6.0 website and are interested
in seeing a bit more, there's
a fast motion video of me drawing
an ad in the members only section
of the illvil pagel. It only
takes a minute to sign up, and
it's pretty funny.

The
NKE
6.0 website launched
the other day. Those talented
folks over at NEMO
design worked their magic
and put it all together.
I'm pretty darn excited
to have lent a hand to
this one. Definitely one
of the most fun projects
I have ever had the pleasure
to be a part of. I'll
post more of this project
as it's published.

Well, we
got up early, and were
on the road by 6:00am.
Conditions did not improve
from yesterday, and a
warming trend threatened
to turn all the nice pow
from yesterday to wet
concrete. But we still
had a fine time, and the
face was fun as always.

I managed
to sneak a little recon
mission in this morning
before work. My dad and
I are planning a dawn
patrol hike up Tumalo
Mt. tomorrow, and I wanted
to check out the snow
conditions and coverage.
I topped off about 8:45am
and was happy to see stable
conditions. There was
quite a bit of windloading,
but all the wet weather
we've had seems to have
consolidated the snowpack
quite a bit. Here's some
pics:

Happy New
Year!
The
rain turned to snow early
last week and Jen and
I were able to log some
good days up at the hill.
Slashers and pow turns
were had by all. Gusty
winds made for interesting
lift riding conditions,
but all the fresh cornices,
rollers, windlips, and
deep pow stashes made
up for it.
I
just spent some time reworking
the site organization
a bit, so please let me
know if you come across
any broken links or strangeness.
