I spent some time last year designing a series of tee graphics in collaboration with Icebreaker. In addition to being great folks to work with, Icebreaker makes some incredibly nice apparel, all from the finest merino. I’ve been a fan for a while, and besides occasionally wear-testing some of their new stuff, their merino base layers have become an indispensable part of my snowboarding kit.
In all, I designed four tees for their Artist Signature Series line. The themes were similar, basically a juxtaposition of nature and man-made objects. Most of the man-made objects were inspired by outdoor recreation, and I tried to create quirky mash-ups that would go well with the collection.
Here are the four that made the final cut:
I love these tees. Sure the graphics are ok, but I mean the fabric, fit, and wearability. I love them so much that I hit up Icebreaker to see if I could sell them here. They agreed, so I’m proud to present Logbike in two colorways (Bansai and Fossil), Crawknife, and Turtle; three of my favorites from this collection.
So, what makes a $75 tee worth it? You’ve got to put one of these on to find out. They wear beautifully, feel amazing, resist odor, and are versatile enough for nearly any activity. Just don’t put it in the dryer!
I’ve got a few more of these collaborations going right now, so check back soon for the latest.
