Pirelli

I was commissioned to do a vintage F-1 inspired illustration earlier in the summer for a mirror fixture at the new Pirelli retail space in Milan, and I’m very pleased with the result. Here’s a shot of the installed fixture:

This piece was first drawn in pencil, then inked with a detail brush, and colored in Illustrator. It’s a bit difficult to see in the first photo, so here are a few shots of the original file that I sent.

I posted a while back about doing some stipple tees. Well, those are all finished as well, and they’re featured in the new space.

Up close:

These had to be turned to vector format for printing, so here’s my favorite of the original pieces while still in pixels:

and a close-up:

Gotta love that stipple, makes my eyes cross just looking at it.

Here’s a few shots of the rest of the space:

Storyboard #2

The latest issue of Snowboard has Storyboard #2 tucked neatly inside it.  I kept the story short and sweet on this one, and let the illustration do most of the talking.  Click on the last photo to read the text.
